Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is a dental specialty that focuses on the appearance of a smile rather than the than the person's oral health. Essentially, cosmetic dentistry provides patients with the smiles of their dreams by using modern cosmetic dental treatments and procedures that can be done in the dental office. In some cases, these treatments and procedures are permanent, but in the case of options such as teeth whitening, periodic visits may be required.

While cosmetic dentistry has been around for decades, only recently has it become popular among men and women ages 18 to 35. It is especially popular among women between the ages of 20 and 30. As a simple and effective way to improve one's appearance, more and more people are seeking their perfect smile in the dentist's chair.

A porcelain veneer is a very thin, yet strong, piece of porcelain that is cemented to the front of the tooth. Veneers are typically used to cover gaps in the teeth, discoloration, slightly misaligned teeth, and other dental flaws. While a porcelain veneers are used for aesthetic purposes, they can also be used as a protective measure to prevent cracking or breaking of already fragile teeth.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a form of cosmetic dentistry that uses strong whitening gels, whitening trays, and UV lights to attain a brilliant white smile. Although over-the-counter teeth whitening methods may work, it takes a skilled cosmetic dentist to achieve the same level of whitening as you see in the smiles of Hollywood stars.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a biocompatible titanium cylinder that is surgically implanted into the jaw. After tooth extraction or tooth loss, dental implants may be used to provide a strong anchor for a cosmetic dental restoration, such as a crown or denture.

Crowns and Bridges

Dental crowns and bridges are made to replace lost teeth. By using a dental implant as an anchor, crowns and bridges are permanently cemented into place to provide a complete smile for patients. The crowns and bridges are made to look exactly like the teeth you've lost, right down to the color and the shape.
